Various Direct Support Professional Positions Available

 

Nature of Position:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team on a full-time, part-time and float (casual) basis. The successful candidate(s) will be tasked with providing a variety of personalized supports for individuals who currently reside in our Adult & Children's Services. This role requires a commitment to ensuring the highest quality of care and support is provided to our residents.

 

Responsibilities and Duties Include, but are not Limited to:

 

Case Management and House/Team Responsibilities:

  • Assist with task assignments and contextual work explanation under the direction of the Team Lead.
  • Aid individuals in financial matters such as annual budget planning and tax preparation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) and Person-Centered Plans (PCP).
  • Facilitate medication setup and reconciliation on a weekly basis.
  • Conduct home inspections and ensure compliance with regulations and agency policies.

 

Client Service:

  • Foster client-centered approaches to encourage skill development, self-determination, and community inclusion.
  • Provide personal care with respect for individual dignity and preferences.
  • Implement program activities and goals while networking within the community for inclusion opportunities.

 

Communication:

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders through various formats.
  • Provide positive feedback to clients, supervisors, and external parties.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate respectfully with colleagues and contribute to a positive workplace environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and share information for consistency of care.

 

Quality and Standards of Performance:

  • Ensure safety, security, and wellness of clients and colleagues.
  • Adhere to all applicable legislation and contribute to identifying areas for improvement.

Required Skills, Education, and Knowledge:

  • Preference will be given to the candidate(s) who have a relevant 2-year Community College Diploma, related University Degree or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Specifically for Children's services, working with Children &/or youth is required.
  • Police clearance with vulnerable sector screening.
  • A valid G driver's license and insurable by the agency’s insurance company.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to respond to individual needs and crisis situations in a calm, productive manner.
  • Well-developed organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Experience working with and following Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s)
  • Must be available to work, days, evenings, sleep shifts, weekends, and, must be committed to be available for call in shifts.
